Locations: western and central New Brunswick. Potential rainfall rates: locally 30 to 50 mm per hour in thunderstorms. Time span: until late this evening. Remarks: Thunderstorms, with potential to become severe, are expected to develop as the air mass over the region becomes increasingly unstable. The storms will be slow-moving, increasing the risk of localized heavy rainfall and flooding. ### Driving conditions may be difficult. Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
