red warning - tornado - in effect At 2:40 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. A thunderstorm is possibly producing a tornado over: Morton. Motion: Moving quickly to the northeast at 60 km/h Hazards: Tornado. Up to 90 klm/h wind gusts. Locations in the Path: Lyndhurst Charleston Lake Provincial Park Athens Lyn ### This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado. Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, return to shore and seek shelter, if possible. Otherwise, move away from the path of the tornado to escape. Wear your lifejacket, lie face down and protect your head. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

Thunderstorm Location: From Alexandria to Iroquois to Newboro Motion: Moving quickly to the northeast at 60 km/h Hazards: Wind: damaging (90 km/h) Risk of tornadoes. Locations in the Path: Avonmore, Apple Hill, Spencerville, Williamsburg, Iroquois, Prescott, Cornwall, Dundee, Huntingdon. Athens, Lyn, Brockville, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. ### Local utility outages are likely. There is a risk of injury. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
