yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 11:36 a.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorm Location: Over Carlisle Motion: Moving quickly to the east at 60 km/h Hazards: Up to 90 km/h winds. Up to quarter size hail. Locally heavy rainfall. Locations in the Path: Dundas Waterdown Hamilton Burlington Oakville ### Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. Don't drive through flooded roadways. Avoid low-lying areas. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
