Tropical Cyclone Alert : Severe Tropical Storm Gardo (HIGOS) GARDO MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH AS IT MOVES NORTH NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA. Location of eye/center : The center of Severe Tropical Storm GARDO was estimated based on all available data at at 1,280 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (22.8, 134.1). Strength : Maximum winds of 95 kph near the centerand gustiness of up to 115 kph. Forecast movement : Forecast to move North Northwestward at 25 kph Forecast position : Jun 26, 2026 02:00 PM - 1,470 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS Heavy Rainfall Outlook   Refer to Weather Advisory No. 17 issued at 5:00 AM today for the heavy rainfall outlook due to the Southwest Monsoon.   Severe Winds   The Southwest Monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds): Today (26 June): Most of Luzon. Tomorrow (27 June): Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur. HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 3.0 m: The seaboard of Batanes. Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels. Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 2.5 m: The northern and western seaboards of Babuyan Islands; the northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte. Up to 2.0 m: The remaining seaboards of Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Norte; the seaboards of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Zambales, Lubang Island, and Kalayaan Islands; the western seaboards of Pangasinan, Bataan, and Batangas. Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions. Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone. Severe Tropical Storm GARDO will remain far from the Philippine landmass throughout the forecast period. It is forecast to move generally northward until it exits PAR this morning or at noon. GARDO is forecast to weaken into a tropical storm in the afternoon. However, the possibility that GARDO will remain a severe tropical storm within the next 12 hours is not ruled out.

Location of eye/center : The center of Severe Tropical Storm GARDO was estimated based on all available data at at 1,310 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) (25.2, 133.7). Strength : Maximum winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.
