Flood Watch issued July 20 at 1:01PM MST until July 21 at 10:00PM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Arizona, including the following areas, Globe/Miami, San Carlos, Southeast Gila County and Tonto Basin. * WHEN...From Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deep monsoon moisture in place across Eastern Arizona will lead to storms capable of producing rainfall between 1-2 inches per hours, to locally higher, resulting in an enhanced risk of flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Special Weather Statement issued July 20 at 3:44PM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ At 344 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles south of Kelly Butte, or 39 miles northeast of Globe. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of Gila County. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
