Flood Advisory issued July 19 at 9:30PM PDT until July 19 at 11:15PM PDT by NWS Las Vegas NV * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...West Central Mohave County in northwestern Arizona... * WHEN...Until 1115 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 930 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Meadview, Grand Canyon Ranch, Pierce Ferry And Antares Roads, South Cove, Temple Bar Campground, Grand Canyon Skywalk and Temple Bar. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
