For the Amite And Comite Rivers...including Olive Branch, Comite Joor Rd, Darlington, Grangeville, Magnolia, Denham Springs, Bayou Manchac Point, Bayou Manchac Near Little Prairie, Port Vincent, French Settlement, Maurepas...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Amite River at Denham Springs. * WHEN...From Wednesday evening to Friday evening. * IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, Flooding will begin in the westernmost parts of Denham Springs. River Road at the foot of Benton Lane will flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 20.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 24.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Wednesday evening to a crest of 30.5 feet early Thursday afternoon. - Flood stage is 29.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 30.5 feet on 05/10/1975. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall are expected through Tuesday night.
