Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Conditions will be favorable for flash flooding. Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are expected with high rainfall rates at times. Southern Lamar County in southeastern Mississippi... * Until 600 PM CDT. * At 158 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Three to four inches of rain has resulting in water over a few roads in southern Forest County. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hattiesburg, Purvis, Lumberton, Baxterville, Pine Ridge, Rock Hill, McLaurin, Brooklyn, Pine Burr, Maxie, Sandy Hook and Pickwick. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Flooding is occurring or is imminent.
