Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Goldsboro, Smithfield, Mount Olive, Lillington, Fuquay-Varina, Dunn, Angier, Benson, Fremont, and Walnut Creek. This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 107 and 58. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 318 and 355. US 1 near Mile Marker 80. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
