Flood Watch issued July 11 at 12:39PM EDT until July 12 at 11:00PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, including the following counties, Boyd, Carter, Greenup and Lawrence, southeast Ohio, including the following county, Lawrence OH, southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Buchanan and Dickenson, and West Virginia, including the following counties, Boone, Cabell, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mingo, Northwest Fayette, Northwest Raleigh, Putnam, Southeast Fayette, Southeast Raleigh, Wayne and Wyoming. * WHEN...Through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through Sunday evening across the region. Flash Flood Warning issued July 11 at 12:41PM EDT until July 11 at 2:00PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV At 1241 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers producing heavy rainfall. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring area wide in McDowell County and along Guesses Fork Rd in Buchanan County. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Gary, War, Bradshaw, Iaeger, Jolo, Avondale, Panther, Coalwood, Stacy, Cucumber, Hurley, Roseann and Elbert.
