Flash Flood Warning issued June 22 at 5:23PM EDT until June 22 at 7:00PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA At 523 PM EDT, emergency management reported flash flooding across the warned area. Between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Wheeling, Moundsville, Martins Ferry, St. Clairsville, Bellaire, Barnesville, Warwood, Bethlehem, West Liberty, Triadelphia, Clearview, Valley Grove, Shadyside, McMechen, Powhatan Point, Glen Dale, Bridgeport, Benwood and Bethesda. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
